My name is Michael Hanegan. I am 24 and am married to my best friend in the whole wide world, Kris. I love Scripture, theology, learning more about myself, my world, and my God. I have been very interested lately in the writings of Christians who lived some time ago, books about moving the church to a missional focus, and the Biblical teachings and theological implications of grace. My mind is being stretched, my heart opened, and my life changed. I am currently living in Denver, CO and hope to attend Denver Seminary (www.denverseminary.edu) in the spring and work toward an M.A. in New Testament with hopes of someday obtaining an PhD in New Testament and am currently working on the development of The Xapis Project (www.xapisproject.com) and the Xapis Project Resource Network (www.theprojectonline.org).
I started this blog, Radical Renovation, in an effort to do a couple of things: (1) To enhance my writing skills. Practice, in this case, makes better. (2) As an outlet for the things that are on my heart. (3) To keep myself accountable from settling into the stagnant faith that dominated much of my high school and college years.
You will see in my first post on this blog why I originally entitled this blog “Flannel Jesus”. Mrs. Gorton changed my life. She will never know this side of heaven what she did for me years after it actually happened. I now see more clearly than ever that Jesus is wild, dangerous, and that he powerfully speaks for Himself into my world, my life, and my heart.
“May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.” (Psalm 19:14, TNIV)

Hello Michael
I too recently began blogging to enhance my writing skills. We share a love for theology and scripture as a whole. I will stop by often and read your posts.
